Sanofi Names Former CEO of Dassault Systems as Newest Board Member
Sanofi appointed Bernard Charls as new independent Director. Charls has served since May 2016 as Vice-Chairman and CEO of Dassault Systems. He has been CEO of Dassault Systems since September 1995. He joined the company in 1983 and created the New Technology, Research and Strategy division, before being appointed Director for Strategy, Research and Development in 1988. Bernard Charl s is a member of the Academy of Technology (France) and of the National Academy of Engineering (United States).
Citrix Gets Illumina’s President to Board
Citrix added Francis A. deSouza, 44, technology industry veteran and president of Illumina, a leading biotechnology company, to its board. deSouza founded two technology companies, both of which were acquired, and spent time at Microsoft before serving in five different executive roles at Symantec, including group president, enterprise products and services. He began his career at IBM’s TJ Watson Research Center and went on to consult on technical and change management projects with Gemini.
Cisco Names Key Cloud Leaders to Drive Cloud Strategy
Cisco appoints Nick Earle as SVP, of the newly launched cloud sales and go-to-market unit. Most recently, Earle served as SVP of Worldwide Services Sales and Channels. Before that, he was SVP of Customer Advocacy European Markets & Global Enterprise and SVP of Services for European Markets. He was CEO of Streamserve, President & GM of EMEA for Ariba, President of HP's Internet incubator-E-Services Solutions, VP of Worldwide Marketing, Computer Systems and then as CMO, Enterprise Computing for HP, and Senior Analyst in the M&A department at CitiCorp.
VMware named long-time Accenture executive Pamela Craig, 55, to succeed Renee James, 47, on its board. James has served on the VMware board since 2007 and has resigned to focus on her responsibilities as President of Intel. Craig brings a wealth of technology industry experience to the VMware board of directors, having worked at Accenture in various operational, finance and senior management roles for 34 years, most recently serving as chief financial officer from 2006 until her retirement in July 2013. During her long tenure at Accenture, Craig gained extensive knowledge, leadership experience and expertise with insight into how to manage a large, global and rapidly growing organization.
AT&T Adds Chairman and CEO of KeyCorp as Director
AT&T has named Beth E. Mooney, 58, chairman and CEO of KeyCorp, to its board of directors. Mooney joined KeyCorp in 2006 as vice chairman and head of Key Community Bank and served as president, COO and executive director from 2010 to 2011, when she was named CEO. Prior to her most recent position as Senior EVP and CFO for AmSouth Bancorporation (now Regions Financial Corporation), Mooney ran its banking operations in Tennessee and Northern Louisiana. Mooney also completed other line assignments of increasing responsibility at Bank One Corporation, Citicorp Real Estate, Inc., Hall Financial Group and Republic Bank of Texas/First Republic. At Bank One, she served as Regional President in Akron and Dayton, and then as President of Bank One Ohio, managing major markets throughout the state.
HP Cloud Services Appoints Cloud Evangelist
Hewlett-Packard named Symform executive Margaret Dawson as the VP of product marketing and cloud evangelist for the company’s HP Cloud Services. Previously, Dawson served as Symform’s VP of product management and marketing. Dawson has more than 20 years of experience working in leadership roles at global technology start-ups and Fortune 500 companies, including Microsoft and Amazon.
VMware Appoints New CFO from Microsoft
VMware named Jonathan Chadwick as its new CFO. Chadwick has previously served as Microsoft's Corporate VP and as the CFO of Skype. He replaces Mark Peek, VMware's former CFO, who left the company earlier this year. Prior to Microsoft, Chadwick was EVP and CFO at McAfee. Prior to McAfee, Chadwick spent over a decade in various roles at Cisco. He oversaw Cisco’s finance teams for the service provider, enterprise, commercial and consumer customer segments. In addition, he has also been Cisco’s Principal Accounting Officer and VP of Corporate Finance and Planning. Chadwick also worked for Coopers & Lybrand in various roles in the US and UK.
New CMO at Booking.com
The Priceline Group has promoted Paul Hennessy, 47, to Chief Marketing Officer of Booking.com from his current role as Chief Distribution Officer. Before being named Chief Distribution Officer, he was VP of Rental Cars. Prior to joining Priceline, he was Head of Consumer Marketing at Omnipoint Communications, a wireless network operator. Earlier in his career, Hennessy was GM of Marketing at PT Excelcomindo Pratama, a Verizon joint venture based in Indonesia.
Chief Architect Selected at Salesforce.com Subsidiary
Heroku, a cloud PaaS provider, has announced that Yukihiro Matsumoto, 46, will join the company as Chief Architect of Ruby, an open source programming language which Matsumoto created. He will also continue to work as a research fellow at the Network Applied Communication Laboratory and the Rakuten Institute of Technology.
InfoSpace announced that it has appointed Steve Hooper to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Hooper is a founding partner of Ignition Partners, a venture capital firm that invests in communications, internet, software, and technology services. Prior to founding Ignition, Mr. Hooper was the Chairman and CEO at Nextlink Communications (now XO Communications). Prior to this, he served as the Co-CEO at Teledesic.
Pitney Bowes announced the appointment of Chuck Cordray to the new position of president of the Volly secure digital delivery service. Cordray joins Pitney Bowes from Hearst Corporation, where he served as SVP and GM of Hearst Magazines Digital Media. Cordray previously held executive leadership roles for several large consumer brands, including TV Guide Publishing Group, Primedia, and Meredith Corporation.
