Qualcomm Chief Accounting Officer Leaves for Adobe

John Murphy, SVP and Chief Accounting Officer (Principal Accounting Officer) of Qualcomm resigned to pursue other opportunities. George S. Davis, the company's EVP and CFO, will serve as the company's Principal Accounting Officer, in addition to his continued service as CFO (Principal Financial Officer). Davis previously served as both the company's Principal Financial Officer and Principal Accounting Officer upon joining the company in March 2013 until Murphy's hiring in September 2014.

Texas Instruments Appoints Lennox International Chair/CEO as Board MemberTodd M. Bluedorn

Texas Instruments announced that Todd M. Bluedorn has been elected to the company's board of directors. Bluedorn is chairman of the board and CEO of Lennox International. Apple Makes Appointments to Key Leadership RolesKaren Appleton

Apple hired Tesla Motors' former VP of vehicle engineering Chris Porritt to work on its own car project dubbed Project Titan. Steve Zadesky, who led Apple's Project Titan left the company earlier this year. Before working at Tesla, Porritt served as chief engineer for British luxury carmaker Aston Martin.

Couple of Google VPs Leave

Alan Warren, Google’s VP of Engineering has left the company. He has joined health insurance startup Oscar as CTO. A Googler since 2004, Warren most recently led engineering for Google Docs and Drive. Before that, he steered Google’s New York office through its tremendous growth period — it ballooned from 50 engineers to over 3,000. Reliving that growth was part of the reason Warren jumped to Oscar. Warren also worked on Google Health, the search engine’s ill-fated attempt to centralize personal health records.

Qualcomm Names New CIOMary Gendron

Qualcomm has named technology-industry veteran Mary Gendron as its new SVP and CIO. She replaces former CIO Norm Fjeldheim, who left in December after 17 years at the company to lead IT at Illumina. Prior to Qualcomm, Gendron served as CIO at biotech drug and medical device firm Hospira since September 2014. She has also held senior IT management roles at Celestica, Motorola Solutions, and BCE, or Bell Canada, over a 25-year career in enterprise technology.
