Verizon Appoints Aetna Chair/CEO as DirectorMark T. Bertolini

The Board of Directors of Verizon Communications elected Mark T. Bertolini, 59, as a Director. Bertolini is Chairman and CEO of Aetna.  Prior to assuming the role of Aetna’s CEO in 2010 and Chairman in 2011, Bertolini served as President from 2007, and as EVP and head of Aetna’s regional businesses prior to that.  He joined Aetna in 2003 as head of Aetna’s Specialty Products after holding executive positions at Cigna, NYLCare Health Plans and SelectCare.

Salesforce Appoints YouTube CEO to BoardSusan Wojcicki

Salesforce appoints Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, to its Board. Before heading YouTube, she was SVP for advertising and commerce of Google. Wojcicki joined Google in 1999 as the 16th employee and served as the search engine's first marketing executive. At Google, Wojcicki has overseen product management of AdSense, Google Book Search and Google Video as well as the syndication of the company's products. 

Verizon Elects MetricStream CEO to Board

Verizon Communications elected Shellye Archambeau, 49, CEO of enterprise-wide governance, risk, compliance (GRC) solutions company MetricStream, to Board. Archambeau joined MetricStream in 2002. Previously, she was CMO and EVP of sales for Loudcloud, CMO for NorthPoint Communications, president of Blockbuster's e-commerce division, and held domestic and international executive positions in a 15-year career at IBM.

Cloud backup firm Carbonite elected Timothy T. Clifford, 57, to its board. Clifford has more than 30 years of experience in the human capital management (HCM) industry and an entrepreneurial spirit as well as extensive experience working with small, medium and large global companies. Clifford most recently served as co-president of National Accounts and president of Benefits and Talent Management Services at Automatic Data Processing.

Microsoft Names New CFO From Within Ranks; Appoints APAC Regional Leader

Microsoft has named Amy Hood, 41 as its first woman CFO, replacing Peter Klein, 49, who will be leaving the company. Hood joined Microsoft in 2002 and currently serves as CFO of Microsoft's Business Division (MBD), overseeing all financial strategy, management and reporting. During her time as CFO of MBD, Hood was also deeply involved in the strategy development and overall execution of the company's successful acquisitions of Skype and Yammer. Previously, Hood served as chief of staff in the Server and Tools group, then ran the strategy and business development team in MBD before becoming CFO of the division in 2010. Before joining Microsoft as a part of the investor relations group, she worked at Goldman Sachs in various roles including investment banking and capital markets groups.
